When I think of the best ribs I ever had, I can close my eyes and imagine my Dad, he sure loved his ribs. Yet, not just any ribs, it had to be made the way my Mom did. She really did have the most delicious recipes, and she made me a total rib fan. Good ‘ol country-style ribs!
Unfortunately, I cannot find my Mom’s original recipe, even though I know it used to home with all the others in her cherished Recipe Box. Yet, it has to be a really good version, or it just wouldn’t do for my own family.
Award Winning Dry Rub For Ribs
The best dry rub for ribs is by using the following perfect blend of ingredients to make a seasoning mix: paprika, onion powder, sugar, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
You can combine in a bowl and rub all over the surface of the meat. While you can sear immediately, you can also leave the rub on at room temperature for an hour before searing.
This easy slow cooker ribs recipe is ideal for family dinners to game day. Thanks to the crock pot, you can also make this recipe on a busy day. I love using baby back ribs, it seems everyone like this type.
This homemade dry rub hasn’t been changed for year because I wouldn’t mess with a great thing. Plus I haven’t found another quite like this best rib rub recipe. It has a unique flavor, one that can’t be beat.

Why You’ll Love these Ribs
I recall my Mom telling me once is that the key to great ribs is to tenderize, sear the outside and then slow cook. So, I watched her with interest as she would boil, fry and complete the slow cooking process
Sure, there was a few extra steps in there, and I’m not entirely convinced they are absolutely necessary. Yet they were darn good ribs, and I am still not about to argue with such a great recipe.
The recipe I use today for the best fall of the bone ribs is as much as I can recall from hers, yet I’m sure I’m missing an ingredient or two. I sometimes boil baby back pork ribs until they turn grey, just like she did. An easy recipe, yet a bit tedious. Yet there’s a reason and that is to make the most tender ribs ever.
If you love crock pot bbq ribs, this will become your new favorite. Winter or Summer, no one can resist these tender crock pot ribs, just like our Easy Slow Cooker Lasagna!

Recipe FAQ
I like to cook short pork ribs in the slow cooker for 4 hours on high or 6-8 hours on low
I personally would use any brand of beer such as a stout beer or dark beer. I don’t personally think there’s a best beer to use. You can even use beef stock or root beer if you’d like.
