Hello there
I’m Tammi, and I am the heart and soul behind My Organized Chaos. While I’m not a professional chef or a trained culinary master – I am an average Mother of three with 30 years as a home cook on my ever-expanding resume.
I oftentimes say ‘from our kitchen to yours’ because that’s exactly what this space provides – no fuss budget friendly recipes that anyone can make regardless of skill. If you’re looking for delicious and easy family-friendly recipes you’ve come to the right place. I make these for my own family, and happily share with everyone.
My focus at My Organized Chaos is to take the mess and chaos out of mealtime, in order to truly enjoy the comfort and happiness of both the process involved – and of course diving into every last bite.

our recipes
My parents were born and raised farmers, and though we lived in the city, we has a huge bountiful backyard garden. Growing up we had meals from simple ingredients, a real ‘meat and potatoes’ kind of family, where everyone was always welcome. I was taught cooking and baking skills that were traditional and practical, tried and true basics that is the pillar to what I know about cooking today.
This is the foundation I bring here to My Organized Chaos. The roots of my recipes stem from wholesome fresh ingredients and traditional much-loved foods that are the backbone of what you’d call an amazing recipe. Yet we all know that dreaded rut when it comes to cooking, especially when you add in the pickiness of children and the general busyness of life. The entire experience can easily become boring, frustrating, and repetitive.
Experience, travel, and good old fashioned trial-and-error allowed me to season that knowledge with fresh takes to bring mealtimes back to life. Tweaks on classics, new methods such as using an Air Fryer or Instant Pot, and combining favourites into a whole new dish – I embrace the challenge.
Here you’ll find recipes to suit any occasion, time restraint, method, or taste. Whether you’re going to a potluck or need to make a holiday dinner, each one is d\created to be simple yet successful. Some recipes are variations on classics from generations ago, and others are restaurant copycats because sometimes the carving hits and you want to stay home.
I suggest you start with our Recipe Index, to get a feel of what My Organized Chaos offers. It’s much more than what I could possibly introduce here.
early beginnings
I was inspired to start writing in this space way back in 2008, at the birth of my twin daughters. Blogging was (and remains to this day, in my opinion) a simple yet meaningful way to journal and capture moments. Going from a career in the health care field to a stay-at-home Mom of a toddler and newborns, was certainly a life change.

My Organized Chaos is where I held honest and raw stories of everyday life, from daily ramblings to deep discussions. Sharing my stories encouraged others to share theirs, and soon my online voice expanded to both print and on-air audiences, guest articles, and interviews.
My work online included a roles as a family travel columnist, social media strategist, brand ambassador, product reviewer, and so much more. Turns out having twins was the easy part!
Among the Top 10 Most Influential Canadian Mom Bloggers by Cision Canada, and included in the Fifteen Best Canadian Parents Online by The Huffington Post – I was a well-established influencer before the term was trendy.
Blog topics evolved throughout the two decades, perfectly aligning the lives it followed. Milestones reached, adventures had, and experiences lived – what a wild ride! Upon reflection one day, I realized that the recipes I shared were a constant among all that chaos. If my blog was the home, my recipes section was the heart much like the kitchen is. Everyone seemed to gather to that comforting place no matter what life stage we were all at. So, when it came time to shift gears and settle in, there wasn’t a question where we should land.
So to those that have been with us for over 16 years, hello dear friends. And to new faces we meet along the way – welcome, it’s so very nice to have you.
From our kitchen to yours, we hope you find joy in our favourite recipes.
