Strawberry Banana Mousse
You must try this Strawberry Banana Mousse recipe, yet if the combo isn’t your personal favourite, perhaps you’d rather a Orange Creamsicle Cheesecake Mousse! That’s another that doesn’t last long in our house!
Sometimes I avoid making new dessert recipes because the many ingredients that I’d have to buy, are pricy. Factor that in with every other expense that pops up during the summer months, and the realization comes that you need to save where you can.
Thus, my summertime shopping consists of smart choices where I can, so that I can splurge and really treat myself at, say, the farmers market that week.

The most cost effective desserts during the summer, can be made with Jello! Combining Jello and cool whip to make mousse is a great way to get in that dessert, and not break the budget.
Just like this Orange Creamsicle Cheesecake Mousse, this dessert it’s so light, refreshing, and fruity – it screams summer.

This Strawberry Banana Mousse is another great mousse recipe from my friend Stacie. She’s really come up with some great variations on mousse, all easily made!

Making Strawberry Banana Mousse doesn’t even need a trip to the grocer for myself, all of these ingredients I usually have on hand at all times. So, making this in the AM, and allowing it to set during the day while we’re out enjoying the day, is a simple way to guarantee dessert for when you return.

Strawberry Banana Mousse
Ingredients
- 1 package strawberry banana Jello (4 serving size)
- ½ cup boiling water
- 2 bananas (peeled and cut in half)
- 1 cup strawberries (cut in half)
- ½ 8 oz pkg cream cheese (softened)
- ½ cup cold water
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup Cool Whip (thawed)
- 1 banana (sliced, and 2 to 3 strawberries, sliced, for garnish, if desired)
Instructions
- Add the strawberry banana Jello to a small bowl and stir in boiling water until completely dissolved.
- In a blender, add strawberries, bananas, cream cheese, cold water, vanilla extract and Jello mixture. Blend for 1 minute or until smooth.
- Pour the mixture into a large bowl. Whisk in Cool Whip.
- Spoon the mixture into your dessert serving bowls. Place in the fridge for 2 – 3 hours or until set. The longer it sets, the more “mousse” like it becomes.
- Top with strawberries and bananas before serving.
- Serves 4 to 6 {depending how big you make each serving}
