With a name like Bacon Wrapped Tater Tot Cheese Bombs, this recipe better deliver, right?

Oh boy, does it ever!
Actually, this recipe feature comes from a comment made by my husband one night while we were enjoying Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Chicken. “We need to have more meals that are bacon-wrapped”, he said.Â
I couldn’t argue with that, could I?
Plus, with the holidays coming {yes, I went there}, I really need to step up the appetizer recipes. The Fall season and back to school also means more parties, gatherings and reasons to get together.
Summer is all about the dips but Fall makes me want to start the oven and cuddle in with something comforting.

While I do have my tried and true favourites {found here in my recipe box}, yet it’s always nice to have a great selection to choose from. And really, you can’t go wrong when it comes to bacon. Bacon is comfort.
Bacon Wrapped Tater Tot Cheese Bombs is exactly like it sounds. Tater tots infused with marble cheese, wrapped in bacon and baked to crispy perfection.
A little spice, some fresh parsley – and the result is amazing. BOOM!

Bacon Wrapped Tater Tot Cheese Bombs
Ingredients
- ½ bag Tater Tots {thawed to room temperature}
- 6 slices of Marble Cheese {cut into ¼-inch squares}
- 1 package Bacon {cut the strips in half}
- Pepper
- Garlic Salt
- 3 tbsp Fresh Parsley (chopped finely)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400F and lightly grease a baking pan
- Take a Tater Tot and push knife into center to make a little space inside and push a square of cheese inside. The Tater Tot might break in half a little, but it’s alright. The bacon will hold it together nicely. As you do more tots, it’ll get easier to keep the tot intact.
- Once the cheese cube is in the tot, wrap a half-slice of bacon around the tot. Pull on the bacon a little if you need to, to ensure some overlaps.
- Place in pan, bacon seam side down so it’s held together.
- Continue doing this will all the tots until they are all wrapped and in the pan.
- Sprinkle desired amount of pepper and garlic salt over the tots. I like to be generous with the spices, myself.
- Bake for 20 minutes and then turn each bacon wrapped Tater Tot over and bake for another 10-15 minutes until bacon is cooked and is starting to crisp up nice.
- When done, put bacon wrapped tots onto paper towel on a plate. Sprinkle fresh parley over them and let cool a few minutes before eating.
- Enjoy!
I was thinking about making these and wanted to read the comments from people that had made them to see what worked (cooked longer, shorter, used thicker bacon, etc.) and read the different comments as I do for other cooking sites. I was very disappointed to read that almost all comments were from people that had NOT actually prepared the bacon-wrapped tots. Those comments are not helpful to cooks that would like to try the recipe.
While I don’t have control over the type of comments that people leave, perhaps checking out my pins in Pinterest would help? I have many comments on all my recipes there, along with many reader photos shared of their result after trying. Yet if you do make these, come back and leave a comment with your take – hopefully more people do!
