How to Make Slow Cooker Hawaiian Pork Chops
A great tasting easy dinner is made in 4 simple steps. Really, it’s one of those recipe where it cannot get easier.
- Load the crock pot. Mix the crushed pineapple, brown sugar, onion, bbq sauce, bell pepper, red pepper flakes, ½ of the mango, and salsa in the bottom of your slow cooker.
- Add the pork to the marinade mixture and give it a little stir to coat the pork chops well. Place the pineapple slices on top of the pork chops.
- Cook. Cook covered on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 6-7 hours
- Serve. Serve this slow cooker hawaiian pork chops recipe warm garnished with green onion and the remaining mango.
Oven Instructions
You can make Hawaiian pork chops in the oven if needed. To do so, load a 9X13-inch baking dish just as you would the slow cooker and bake for 20 minutes or until the internal temperature of the largest pork chop reaches 145°F.
What to Serve with Hawaiian Pork Chops
I like to serve these over white rice, brown rice, or cauliflower rice. You’ll appreciate that there’s extra sauce, because you’ll be looking for that side that will use up more of that tangy hawaiian sauce.
You can serve this slow cooker pork chops dish with many sides such as a simple side salad, Hawaiian rolls, or vegetables such as Air Fryer Asparagus, or Roasted Parmesan Green Beans.
Storage and Reheating
- To store. Once the pork and sauce have cooled to room temperature, seal the leftovers in an airtight container. Pineapple pork chops will keep in the fridge for up to 4 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
- To reheat. Allow the Hawaiian pork chops to thaw in the fridge before reheating (if applicable). Transfer the pork and sauce to a baking dish and cover it with aluminum foil. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes or until heated through.
Make Ahead Instructions
You can make this ahead of time and freeze it! Simply combine the sauce, pork chops, and pineapple slices in a large freezer bag. You can freeze it for up to 3 months.
When you are ready to enjoy, transfer the contents of the bag to the crockpot and cook just as you normally would. Just tack on an extra hour to the cook time.
Your Questions, Answered.
What size crockpot did you use?
I suggest sticking with a crockpot that holds 6-8 quarts. If you want to use a smaller crockpot, scale the recipe down.
Can I use a crockpot liner?
You can and you should if you want the easiest cleanup possible. They are the best!
Should I marinate the meat?
While marinating the pork in the sauce for an hour or less can impart extra flavor to the meat, I don’t recommend doing it for any longer than that. The acid in pineapple tends to break down protein which can leave you with mushy meat.
