Slow Cooker Chicken and Rice with Parmesan Mushroom Sauce
We recently tried a new recipe for dinner, Slow Cooker Chicken and Rice with Parmesan Mushroom Sauce.
The family consensus is that it should be made again sometime, so of course it’s going to make it to the Recipe Box at My Organized Chaos.

It’s a take on Chicken Parmesan, yet a mushroom sauce substitutes the more common tomato-based sauce.
Instead, using the slow cooker, you get all that ‘Parmesan taste’ in the tender chicken and rice alone. It’s a very flavorful meal, definitely better to taste than to take photos of.
Best of all? It’s a crock-pot meal, meaning dinner is ready without the mad-scramble in the kitchen just before.
All you need to is add some greens {we opted for Caesar salad}, yet it would be great with green beans, a tossed salad or a mix of steamed veggies.

- In a bowl mix together the: onion soup mix, mushroom soup, milk and uncooked rice. Pour over chicken and sprinkle the top with cheese

Sounds Delicious! I am absolutely going to make this, in fact I believe I have all I need to make it today, I hope. Well everything except the onion soup mix is here.
I had to double check on the onion soup mix too. Luckily I had some in the pantry still, something I *usually* have, unless I forget to add it to the grocery list.
love the slow cooker. We use ours 2-3 times a week. Meat is so tender.
thats one of the best parts, right? The kids love it that way too, tough meat = lots of complaints!
great recipe idea… wish I had a slow cooker… guess I will have to modify it…hehe
I think it would be an easy one to modify, for sure!
Baking it in the sauce {even if you make the rice separate}, will still give you tender chicken.
I make something very similar but never tried it with cheese. Sounds like a nice variation. Thanks for the idea.
The parmesan gives it a chicken caesar salad taste – yum!
This is exactly what I want tonight! That picture makes me hungry.
