Jello Pudding Pops Recipe
Do you remember Jell-O BANANA PUDDING POPS? They were my absolute favourite in the 80’s. Now I can easily make them at home for my kids!

JELLO BANANA PUDDING POPS
The summer weather sure makes our family reach for cool treats. I crave popsicles in the summer months!
When I was young, I loved Jell-O Pudding Pops, they were so creamy and delicious. Yet, for some reason they stopped making them here in Canada. Do remember them?
Does the commercial with Bill Cosby ring a bell? Ahh, what a flash from the past.
Unfortunately, my kids have no idea when I talk about my favourite 80’s summer treat. “Pudding? In a Popsicle?” my daughter questions {yet the original Pudding Pops were actually made by Kraft, just so you know}.

So, I did some research on the net, seeking the answer to why Kraft stopped making these awesome treats.
Instead I read a ton of consumer disappointment and many people excited to discover that you can easily make them at home. Score!
So, I set out to make Pudding Pops for my kids, and share with them my favourite treats from I was young.

They are creamy and delicious, just like I remember! I’m also getting more creative with the Pudding Pops I make.
I have added fresh banana to the pudding and even crushed Oreos with Vanilla pudding to make cookies and cream.

Also, try out the other JELLO mixes and make lime and others, the choices are endless. Summer just got a whole lot sweeter!
Here’s the recipe I use:

Jello Pudding Pops Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 large box Jell-O Banana Cook & Serve Pudding {you can use the instant kind (5.1 oz, yet it won’t be as creamy. I tried both})
- 3 cups cold milk
- 1 cup thawed Cool Whip Whipped Topping {in a pinch I have used whipped topping in a can and it was a good alternative}
Instructions
- Make the pudding as the package explains.
- Cool slightly
- Add Cool Whip Topping to the pudding, stirring well
- Let Pudding mixture cool to lukewarm
- Pour into popsicle molds or use Dixie cups {for this method, insert one Popsicle stick in the middle as it should have cooled enough to set and hold the stick in place}
- Place in freezer
- Freeze for at least 5 hours and enjoy!
While its still warm I’m going to make these for my grandkids! They’ll be happy to have them next weekend after a hard week back to school!
thanks
I made chocolate peanut butter one and they were amazing. Made the pudding mixture the same, but then melted some peanut butter, mixed it with some Cool Whip and then layered it in between the chocolate pudding!
I have never come across Jell-O Pudding Pops before. When we were children we used to make pops from orange squash
I loved pudding pops as a kid! Why did they ever stop making them? I’ll make these for sure!
I loved these when I was a kid, thanks for the recipe. Will definitely be making them this summer
