While I don’t make huge resolutions this time of year {been there, failed at that}, I have vowed to make simple and healthy changes. More importantly, these changes are realistic and attainable. For instance, I’ve been drinking more water than ever, a simple and obvious change, but an important one.

Yet, I’ve also increased my vegetables and am consciously watching my sugar intake. I gotta admit, I’m doing well so far and feel great.

In 2015 I’d like to drink more healthy and delicious smoothies, since they are a great way to get in a lot of the good stuff. This Fresh Orange Smoothie is one recipe that I’m very much enjoying right now.

The taste of this Fresh Orange Smoothie is exactly that, and with all the sickness that is making it’s rounds this time of year – the huge dose of Vitamin C is most welcome. In other words, super shop for the oranges people, you’re gonna love this one!

Smoothie

Notice one egg whites in this smoothie? It’s a new addition to all my smoothies actually, and it’s quite honestly been a game changer.

I can put money on your reaction right now, since it’s the same one I had when I was first introduced to the idea of adding this ingredient to my smoothies.

As well, it’s the same reaction that a few of my friends had when I told them about it: “you can’t put raw eggs in smoothies?!“.

Thanks to those rad 80s movies, we’re all picturing the cracking of eggs into a blender whilst wearing a pastel headband to hold back the perm, complete with a lycra Jane Fonda inspired bodysuit. While it’s good for a chuckle, no. Just no.

Liquid Egg Whites is a great option for those that need extra protein {like athletes}, or who may be looking for sources of protein other than meat {like vegetarians}. They also provides an all-natural fat-free egg product for those on a low fat diet, like heart patients. Plus, it’s just so convenient having these egg whites in a carton on hand!
