Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a 9x9 baking pan with foil and nonstick cooking spray.
In a bowl, beat the cake mix, butter, and the egg with a mixer until combined.
Press about 1/2 {or a little more to have a thicker bottom layer} of the dough into the prepared baking pan.
Spread the REESE Spreads over the crust layer.
Spread the remaining dough over the top of the REESE Spreads, taking some of the dough and flattening in your hands and placing the pieces on the top if necessary. If there are small gaps, that is ok, sprinkle any remaining dough pieces on the top.
Bake for 19-21 minutes until golden, and the edges are just beginning to brown. Don't overcook as you want the cake to be moist.
Cool completely and remove from the pan to cut into bar sections.
