Homemade Chicken Breakfast Sausage patties are an easy recipe using ground chicken, onion, apple and seasonings. Enjoy that delicious sausage flavor, without all the calories and fat when compared to traditional sausage. This freezer-friendly recipe is also gluten-free, low carb, paleo and Keto friendly!
In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients together.
Using your hands or a large cookie scoop, divide mixture into 8 even sized balls. Shape each into a patty, about 1/2 inch thick.
Add oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. When the oil is heated, add the patties and cook for 4 minutes. Turn and cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until fully cooked. Depending on the size of your pan, you might need to cook in batches. The patties are fully cooked when the internal temperature reads 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
Enjoy alone or with your choice of dipping sauce such as ketchup or maple syrup!
Notes
Leftover chicken breakfast sausage should be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight contianer, for up to 4 days.
Freeze patties in between sheets of parchment paper for up to 4 months. Thaw before cooking or cook from frozen adding extra cook time.
