Make the best Air Fryer Chicken Tenders at home - crispy, juicy, and delicious! This easy 25 minute recipe is a family favorite weeknight dinner, and can be frozen for later use.
Set up the dredging station. Pour the flour into one bowl. In another, whisk together the egg, water, and Dijon. In a third bowl, mix together the breadcrumbs, cheeses, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.
Bread the chicken. Dip each piece of dried chicken in the flour (coating all sides), then in the egg mixture, and then in the breadcrumb mixture. Arrange the breaded pieces in a single layer on a plate or rack while you bread the remaining pieces.
Prepare the air fryer. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F and spray its basket with non-stick cooking spray.
Air fry. Arrange the breaded chicken pieces in a single layer in the basket of the preheated air fryer. DO NOT crowd the basket. Cook in batches if needed. Air fry each batch for 10 minutes, flipping the pieces halfway through. Check the tenders with a meat thermometer to make sure the center reaches 165 degrees before removing them from the air fryer basket.
Serve. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
To store. Allow the air fryer chicken tenders to cool completely before sealing them in an airtight container. They will keep in the fridge for up to 4 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
To reheat. Allow the chicken to thaw in the fridge (if applicable) before arranging them in a single layer in an air fryer preheated to 375°F and cooking for 4 minutes, flipping halfway through. You could also pop a couple in the microwave and heat in 30-second intervals until warm.
