Starting a Spring Garden {Wordless Wednesday with Linky}
Last night my daughter and her Girl Guides troop went to Home Depot. Their fun mission? To make planters and plant seeds for a spring garden. I can’t wait to watch these flowers grow!
One of the 954 reasons why I love Spring and Summer so much is because my daughter inherited my love for gardening. I cannot wait to do this together soon! C’mon Spring, hurry up!

It sure feels like Spring here today in Manitoba! They are expecting it to reach 24 degrees by the weekend YAY!!! I love planting and gardening too. Your daughter is gorgeous Tammi!
wow – that’s warm!
I don’t think it’s supposed to get that nice here, we’ll stick to indoor planting for now.
What a sweet photo! Looks like fun!
She loves guides, they do some incredible things with these girls!
Aww 🙂 I grew up watching (and helping) my folks with their flower/vegetable gardens and still love the activity as an adult.
Looking forward to seeing photos are you and your gals garden grows!
same here, Soozie. I cannot wait, but it the season still seems so far away for me!
She’s so sweet! I bet she had fun!
She had a blast, Home Depot puts on a good show for the troop!
That’s about the only way we can start a garden around here, eh, Tammi? INSIDE in planters! LOL! Guides is SO fun at all levels. So glad she’s getting to do these fun things!
Isn’t that the truth, so sick of indoors!
And yes, guides was the best parenting decision, they do so much for these girls!
That’s great. So fun to share activities with kids. I have been thinking about a growing a garden too. I’m not sure how much help my boys would be though! 🙂
you never know, Kristi, dirt and boys – seems like a match to me!
🙂
Gardening is a hobby she can enjoy for years on end. Very rewarding too.
YAY! can’t wait to see it grow out too… great to share an interest with your girl 🙂
This brings back memories.

yay Spring!! Your daughter looks so much like you Tammi 🙂
Thanks Tara!
🙂
Lots to look forward to. Unfortunately I kill plants and definitely do not do well with flowers or veggies.
That describes me for most of my life, but I’m working on it!
So nice 🙂 Does she get a special badge for it too?
Oh yes, they get badges! Which reminds me, I haven’t put any on her new sash yet… better get on that before the next event!
Looks like tons of fun!
i hope my kids inherit my love for gardening…I too get zoo much enjoyment from my garden. she looks like she has a green thumb!!!
Amen, we drink the same kool-aid!
🙂
What a great hobby for her, it is starting to feel like spring.
Finally!
🙂
I wish your green thumb would virtually rub off on me…
rubbing on screen….
is it working?
;P
Let me see…
Nope. Not yet.
darn, well, I tried!
😉
That is awesome! My kids love gardening and they got that from their dad 🙂 I get more into it every year, I just never grew anything before 🙂
Same here Annie, I’m getting more into it each year. I have a long way to come though!
I remember Brownies…it was the best. Have fun with the little plant, I’m sure she’ll do a great job! Happy WW!
I was never in Brownies myself, but now I really wish I had been!
Have a great week, Kris!
I can’t wait to fix up my flower garden with my daughter 🙂
You can tell she is excited to watch them grow too!
She was so excited there were 10 trial pics before this, all too blurry,
“Please stand still!” lol
🙂
What a fun project! Your daughter is adorable. ^.^

So cute! Brings back memories of my brownie days:)
Spring has arrived in FL, so it is coming!
A great way to get ready for Spring!
I need to learn how to garden. I’m going to start small this year and start with an indoor herb garden. It would be wonderful to have fresh basil!
I’ve always wanted to try that, Randa!!
You should do it – then teach me!
😉
I had back surgery in 2006 & I haven’t had a vegetable garden since, but this year I’m going for it. I found a way I can do it on my porch in plastic containers. woo hoo Come on Spring. I love fresh veggies. woo hoo
Yay for spring and yay for gardening! I hope she had fun 🙂
that’s a great idea..hope she enjoys it
She looks so proud!
I can’t believe it’s flower planting time so soon! This winter has been very short and kind to us!
We definitely need to get start on ours!
I wish I had a little helper! Maybe I’d want to garden if I did!
Aw how cute! I’m totally with you, can’t wait for spring!
She’s quite cute! Can’t wait to see what grows in her garden.
How fun!! I’m not much of a gardener… I tend to kill plants… 🙁
Aloha! Mrs. Marine
& the Tiny Troops
I lean toward that side too, but I still have fun trying. I guess practice will hopefully make perfect one day!
😉
I wish spring would come by really quick! Your daughter is so cute! It´s always fun when kids like to help in the garden.
It seemed like Spring had sprung here in the UK this past couple of weeks but yesterday and today are really miserable. Luckily we have already planted our seeds indoors ready for some protected growth before being transferred to the garden!
I’ve been wondering if it’s time to do that here as well, maybe a bit too soon?
awww wicked cute 🙂
i can’t wait for the flowers to grow either!
Happy WW!

Has she had her first cherry tomato plant yet. They are so easy to grow and you can put them in a big flower pot. No need for a big garden. 🙂 Kids love to eat the tiny tomatoes.
You know, Josee, I have tied that many times. Easy, I hear, but I always manage to kill tomato plants?! I have no idea how I manage to do that….
Fun! Brings back so many memories of Brownies ~ for me and for my daughter! Happy gardening!
My daughter was in Brownies and enjoyed it very much!
Yay for gardening! We started some seeds indoors under a grow light and have already moved some outside. I have cucumbers, tomatoes and zucchini that’s roaring to get outside but I should really wait a bit longer in case of frost.
I’m hoping this year that we put in a garden. I think we’ll just buy the seeds and plant them at my in-laws place since their field is all prepped for gardening, and then tend to it there. We don’t really have the room or right soil type for gardening here. Although I have seen all sorts of neat container type gardening on pinterest. Might have to try a few of those ideas. 🙂
Fun! My husband is the gardener in our family and our little one just helped plant her own tiny pot of seeds. She loves to help out.
I used to love brownies when I was younger. She is going to have such fun watching her plant grow!
How fun :O)

beautiful girl you have!
Cute picture! I’m anxious to get into the garden too.
Hubby took my boys last week and they made a race car!
What an excellent project for the kids! I also can’t wait to start my gardening projects…just waiting on spring! Happy WW!
The weather today and yesterday here in Victoria has lost its mind lol We’ve had snow, rain, winds over 100km/hr and beautiful sunshine!
what a sweet photo! We’re expecting snow this weekend… Happy WW. I hope you’ll join us at the Thursday Favorite Things Blog Hop Linky Party tomorrow Hugs!
I couldn’t agree with your plea for a speedy Spring more!!
How fun is it going to be planting a garden with your family 🙂
Oh, you have the cutest little Brownie 🙂 Good luck with the garden, I know my girls are looking forward to planting flowers in their OWN personal planters they received as part of a Christmas gift 🙂
You should post photos of the progression. Would love to see your little garden! Maybe you could give some pointers too. I’m terrible with gardening but I’d love to grow some low maintenance flowers and even my own vegetables. 🙂
