The Olde Shoe House ltd {TOSH}

My Organized Chaos readers, meet the founder of TOSH {The Olde Shoe House ltd} – Rich Hunt. This man took his 30 years of experience in the shoe industry, and decided that Canada really needed a local place to purchase a few of the top names in footwear {Well thank you, Rich!}. The feel of the site is just as laid back and casual as the footwear it features. All of the items found at TOSH have an outstanding reputation for being as fashionable as they are comfortable.

I was able to have a pair of BEARPAW boots to review. Mine are a style which are called ‘Ava’. These are 12″ boots {in height} that rest about mid-calf, yet there is also a lower cut {10″} version as well. I have heard some buzz about BEARPAW recently, as they clearly resemble another popular brand of boots {I think you know which ones I’m talking about} Yet BEARPAW comes at almost half the price as the competition’s footwear.
Just as plush as they look, they are indeed, the most comfortable footwear that I have ever worn.
The inside lining is sheepskin and a wool blend, and the foot-bed is entirely sheepskin. And, it is simply divine for the feet.
The outer suede material allows it to be a water resistant boot. And, being a warm sheepskin boot, it will be greatly appreciated in the upcoming winter months. The sole of the boots have a nice tread, which will make this easy to walk on ice {which we Canadians must do for most months out of the year}. The Ava comes in plenty of colors to choose from. Mine are a chocolate color, which will look great with any outfit from jeans to a skirt.
So, for excellent quality both in the make and the materials chosen, AND for the steal of a price on these puppies – I think BEARPAW will become this next seasons’
newest must-have for footwear!

My Husband got the Speed of Lite Hiking shoe, made by GOLITE. It’s a heavy shoe, which is completely solid and sturdy, certainly made to endure. The shoe is a cocoa and orange color, and it rises a little past the ankle for support. It’s one of GOLITE’s Fast-Packing shoes, and features the patent pending PreciseFit™ System. Each pair of these shoes comes with different thickness foot-bed inserts, which enable it to be a customized fit. This is great as one pair of shoes can form to narrow, medium and wide widths perfectly {this also allows for one size of shoes to fit 2 feet that are different sizes}. This foot-bed is also anti-microbial, keeping those feet fresh. Since this is a hiker shoe, the Gripstick™ rubber tractioned soles is highly needed and appreciated. I mean, this isn’t just bumps on the bottom, but actual chunks that resemble cleats. I can see a mountain climber wearing these shoes! Well, Hubby won’t be climbing mountains anytime soon {I think…}, but the shoes also allow for safely walking on wet surfaces, slippery ricks, snow and ice. As you can tell, this shoe was made with much design and thought to out-perform the competition. My Husband happily reports that the GOLITE Hiking shoe feels very supportive and is very comfortable, even after wearing them all day. And, being a shoe intended for long treks, this is a necessity. He also likes the mesh tongue and sides, which allow the foot to breathe. In this case, activity + hiker shoe does not equal sweaty mess.
