Pizza Buns

I usually find making lunches incredibly boring and mundane. When the girls are home from school, I struggle a lot with making this meal, trying to refrain from the soup and sandwich rut. Plus, I don’t like to spend a lot of time making lunches, since I’ll be doing it again in a few hours for dinner. Who’s got time for that?

I recently found a Pizza Buns recipe on the Kraft Canada and wanted to give it a try. I love making pizza buns for the kids, yet it’s always on actual buns – and I find the topping slip off too easily {just a little annoyance is all}.

This pizza buns recipe uses refrigerated pizza dough, but you roll them up and bake like you would cinnamon buns. So, really make they should be called … pizza rolls or pizza roll ups? Pizza non-cinnamon buns? Either way let’s call this – easy, handy, and tasty!

This recipe uses the new Classico RISERVA sauce, made from vine-ripened tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil, and sea salt, each jar delivers restaurant quality at home. They have no artificial preservatives, and no sugar added. Using this sauce for these pizza buns is a nice change from using just ordinary pizza sauce – more flavour plus actual chunks of tomatoes! So good!

Make Ahead – These satisfying portion-controlled snacks can be baked ahead of time. Cool completely, then freeze in airtight container up to 2 months. Thaw in refrigerator overnight before reheating to serve.
