Philips SatinPerfect Epilator Review

As summer approaches and clothing gets a little skimpier, we women may find ourselves doing more hair removal than ever before. I had always thought there was only two options, shaving or waxing. turns out there’s another way to rid the unwanted hair, and it’s called epilating. Was I in the dark ages, since I didn’t even know it existed? One reason why I enjoy blogging and being able to review products is becasue I am forced to try things I might not otherwise try on my own. For review, I got the Philips SatinPerfect Epilator.

The cordless Philips SatinPerfect Epilator comes with 2 attachments so that you can remove hair from your legs or very sensitive areas like the armpits and face. It has an extra wide head and textured ceramic discs so that more hair can be removed in one stroke. And, it has a gentle vibrating massage bar that lifts hair and allows for a comfortable epilating experience. For your own comfort level and depending on what area of your body you are removing hair, there is 2 speed control settings to choose from. The Philips SatinPerfect Epilator is very easy to use, and within a couple of minutes of removing it from the box, I was removing unwanted hair. I really like the opti-light feature, the light allows you to see all the hairs easily. I have to admit, using an Epilator on my legs for the first time was not very pleasant – since it literally pulls the hairs out. Ouch! But, I persisted and got the job done! After that first time, I did experience some redness and bumps, especially around my knee area {but, it went away after an hour}. I then decided to try the armpits using the second attachment {brave, I know!}. And, surprisingly, it didn’t hurt at all as compared to the first time I used it on my legs! The Philips SatinPerfect Epilator left my legs smooth and hair free for weeks – I was very impressed. And, when it came time to shave my legs again, it didn’t hurt much at all that second time around. Maybe epilating is just something you have to get used to{?}.

I have used the Philips SatinPerfect Epilator many times now, choosing it over any other hair removal methods. I like that it’s easy to use, convenient, portable, cordless and completely mess free. Best of all, I don’t have to wait until I shower to use it! I always realize that I forgot to shave, after I get out of the shower and dry off. Well, by then, I don’t have enough time to get back in. And, using a razor and cream is pretty messy to use unless bathing. So, my initial impression of this Epilator is that it would be so convenient, and it really is! Now, I can easily grab the SatinPerfect Epilator and get the job done with no worries and no pre-planning involved. I can even use it just as I am about to run out the door, if need be. Ah, the chaotic life of a Mom!

Disclosure: I was provided with product to facilitate this review post, opinions are my own.

  1. This is quite an interesting concept-Pulling the hair instead of razoring it away. I’m ALL for new ways to get rid of the unwanted hair(I absolutely LOATH shaving).

Thank you for this awesome review-This is something I’ll keep in mind 🙂

  2. I’ve never heard of an epilator before, that is so neat! It’s like waxing without the wax, or at least that’s how I imagine it. I’m going to have to look into getting myself one of those!

  3. I remember the old versions of these tools, oooooohhhhh not nearly as comfy as this one sounds. Looks like I’ll have to check them out next time I’m in the big box market! Thanks for the recommendation!

  4. Some people raise the issue of the time taken to epilate (not as quick as the adverts suggest) however compared to booking a waxing appointment, travelling and having it done it is much quicker.

I bought a Philips epilator in the past for my wife and have just bought her a satinperfect one as she was impressed with the results.

  5. Can u tell me if we have to replace the attachment after a while? Wondering if it will go blunt after a few use…

  6. hi there
i want to use epilator but i have a problem with that. its about my leg’s hair when in use epilator after the hair grow up they stay under my skin and it’s no nice . what can i do?

  7. Thank God I found this site but I need your help to get an order epilator Satin Perfect to give as a Christmas present for my wife. PLEASE!!!

  8. I have one of these and I am a little disappointed,,frankly it doesn’t do a very good job removing the hair, and it does hurt. It also leaves behind a very uncomfortable red rash. As for using it on your bikini line,,,OUCH** not a good idea.

  9. Hrmmm heard about them, but didn’t give them a second look to even find out what it was. Sounds easiery to travel with, but I have such a hard time with ingrown hairs, even with proper exfoliation.. I wonder if this would be better…

  10. Hi Tammi, I’m glad you found your epilator useful. It does get easier the more you epilate. The red bumps you get after epilating and waxing are a condition known as folliculitis. Sometimes the follicle can get inflamed. This is temporary. After sometime, your follicles will be used to being plucked. For ingrown hair, I find dry exfoliation works best.
