Perfect Ornament {Wordless Wednesday with Linky}
Once again the tree is up and my house is filled with evidence of Christmas. Just like last year and years before it, I smiled at the sight of my perfect ornaments.
There is a story behind this particular ornament, and why I treasure it so very much.
{Please leave me a comment and link up your own WW post!}

We still need to put up our tree. Here in Germany most of the people start putting it up just a few days before Christmas.
Happy WW!

I’v been there, Verena. And, I remember someone saying that too. Beautiful country – would love to go back!
I love this time of year! Our Christmas tree is up too!

I love the story behind the ornament! Thanks for linking up at Momma T and Baby E!
Wow! 1954? That’s so awesome! I just put up our Christmas tree tonight along with the train and tracks that circle the base. I have yet to put up any ornaments though. I’ll be thinking of yours when I do.

with a train track!! That’s awesome, you’ll have to post a photo!
Good idea. Maybe for next week’s WW…
I put up my Christmas tree last week and still have yet to put any ornaments on it. With children and cats…..my tree has to stay child and pet-friendly..haha I love the ornament and story behind it!
I remember when we had a cat year ago, Kristen, we used to have to tie the tree to the wall! lol
I love the story behind it. That truly is a special and unique ornament
Oh, that is truly PRICELESS! I love it!
What a great story behind that ornament! I’d keep it forever too! 🙂
Very nice Tammi!! I have a few ornaments that made it onto the tree for that same reason.. they may not be the nicest, but they have sentimental value. Love that Trev. made that not so special ornament a special one 🙂

Thanks for sharing! I luv Christmas and all the Heartfelt Joy 🙂
Now I am going to read the story behind that ornament! Thank you for sharing!
That’s what ornaments are all about. Little memories from years gone by…
Thanks for hosting!

That is so true, Gillian!!
Awww, Tammi…Your story brought tears to my eyes. How awesome to have such a special ornament and that your husband grabbed it out of the trash! I too have those special ornaments that hang on my tree every year….those are truly the best trees!! Merry Christmas!! ♥
It’s a keeper for many more years!
I love ornaments with a story. So meaningful!
Agreed!
What a sweet story good thing your husband grabbed it.
I can’t wait to put our tree up this year! But we still need to get one.
lol that’s sweet and funny all at the same time, totally something my husband would have wrote on it!
I love ornaments and decorations with a history. I always want to have a picture perfect tree too, but my kids are always moving the ornaments around, and my cats climb the tree so we often find that they have knocked many of them out of the tree. I can’t put glass ornaments up or I would have one heck of a mess!
That is a great shot. I love ornaments with a story behind them.
It has wisps of white hair like me. Although at 1954 it is older than me by a little. Amazing that it has been on that many trees and great that it now has moved to the next generation. Just think maybe many years from now it will be hanging on a tree and they will be saying it started with my grandparents or even great grand parents.
Happy WW!
What a great keepsake – I love it!
Thanks for linking up with me this week!
Ahh seems we live in memories at times…and they mean so much
That’s a great story! I really love going through all the ornaments of Christmas pasts. I know our tree is gawdy because of them, (the ornaments we’ve all made in Kindergarten, et cetera, ) but I love them all! 🙂
Blessings,
Kristine
I love the story behind the ornament! 🙂
Thank you!
I’ve learned it’s not the monetary value that makes them so important!
What a beautiful story ….
I have ornaments like that, but they’re packed away. Guess I should hand them down to my grandson & maybe I’ll do that this year. Thanks for sharing your pic. Have a great day!
This year we put up the tree earlier than usual – I usually procrastinate and find myself getting to it like barely two weeks before Christmas… But, I’m so glad that it is there now and I can sit by it relaxing each night while having a cup of tea… so cozy!
Beautiful story and ornament. The older ones are always the best. We used to have the green glass reindeer that my mother got the year I was born and it was always up on the tree.
Great ornament!
I still need to put my tree & decorations up! :-S
Passing through for WW, have a great holiday season.

I love it!
Care for chocolates?
Our tree goes up the first weekend of November! We have special ornaments for each of us, for my hubby and I we always get the newest Starbuck’s ornaments and each year I let the kids pick a new ornament or like this year we made ornaments 🙂
Love the story behind the ornament!
I’m off to go read that post…this sounds like an interesting story!
LOL, good post my dear!
One of my favourite things was decorating my Grandma’s tree each year! The ornaments had so much history to them. We have the matching ornaments from our first Christmas married and have added ornaments for our DDs each year since they were born with the year somewhere on it. The idea (much like your parents) is to give them to the girls when they have a home of their own to take the memories with them.
Great story. It’s amazing that ornament is still in use. Wow.
thank for the linky.
Ornaments with meaning are the best kind.
Thank you for the linky.
I used to love making it though Christmas. But that was ages ago, in another life. Hope your WW was spent in joyous anticipation of Yuletide….
