IN a Flash Mob! Me!
I was keeping a very juicy secret this past month, and I’m thrilled to finally be able to share! *big sigh*
I was IN a FLASH MOB! {all caps means I’m screaming with excitement!}.
During my time in New York City for the BlogHer ’12 Conference, I was in the Master Moves Mickey Flash Mob – right at Times Square! Talk about one huge event for my first ever ‘Hello New York City’.

Kristin and I were the only bloggers in the mob, that we know of.
The mob was held to celebrate the new Master Moves Mickey toy from Fisher-Price. He’s pretty cool, he dances – break dances. So a mob event was so appropriate, right?
“Master Moves Mickey was designed to encourage self-expression and confidence through dance and we know there is no better dance partner than a trusted friend like Mickey Mouse,” said Susie Lecker, senior vice president of Fisher-Price Friends. “The M3 flash mob in New York is a great example of how Master Moves Mickey is providing inspiration and motivation to children of all ages, and now they’ll be encouraged to break out their very own dance moves with their pal, Mickey Mouse. Many children are naturally inclined to dance and this is a really fun way to tap that instinct.”
So, I joined professional {and some novice} dancers and surprised the masses with a flash mob.
AND IT WAS AWESOME!
To actually see a flash mob in person is a rare occurance right now, but to be IN one? Incredible! I can cross ‘being in a flash mob’ off my bucket list, though I would love to do it again one day.
Here is the official video for the mob {I also have one of my own that I’ll post soon}. Huge kudos to everyone involved. It was a thrilling time for all, dancers and spectators!

To see the entire dance, including the astounding break dancing involved, you just have to check this out: http://youtu.be/60C2LTsTHFE

That is so awesome! Before I die I will be in a flash mob. I think they are the greatest! Can’t wait to see your video.
It was a rush – truly!
So happy I got to do this!
OMG how dricking awesome is that.
🙂
So so fabulous:)
That is too cool! How fun!!! 🙂
It was so much fun Christine!
Sounds like you had a lot of fun
I did Florence, what an experience!!
🙂
Tammi, this looks like so much fun!! I am so pleased for you. My question is this: Did you get to the t-shirt and Mickey? lol The girls must have been so excited to see their Mummy dancing with Mickey!
Oh yes, I have the shirt for a keepsake and the Mickey! The girls LOVE it! From the very first time they pressed his nose and he started singing and break dancing, they tried copying his moves. Cool to see kids do exactly as the product was intended for!
That is awesome!!
Okay, officially jealous! I must say, that is probably a once-in-a-lifetime thing to be able to be a part of 🙂
Although, I’d be a little scared to join in because I’m so uncoordinated! LOL
Surrounded by a bunch of professionals that are beyond awesome dancers? Ya me too! But, it was so fun, it didn’t matter. Everyone just had a good time!
Awesome! What a fun experience
Oh it was!! I still smile thinking of it. So happy to have been apart of the mob!
Bucket list checked. 🙂
Indeed! Very good times!
🙂
so very cool!!
Oh my goodness! How did you manage to get in on that? Where do people even sign up for those things? I’d settle for just getting to watch a flash mob first hand, and you—lucky girl—got to be in one! Very cool. 🙂
Hi Kat, I’m a Fisher-Price Mom Ambassador, so I’m ‘in the know’. lol
Hard to keep the secret though!
So very cool! How exciting and what a rush…and at TIMES SQUARE?! Wowzers! 🙂
yes, the location make it that much more WOW, right?
🙂
super fun!
That would be so cool!! I love watching flash mobs… never seen one live though 🙁
