LeapPad Ultra
Whether at home or on road trips, my kids reach for a LeapFrog product often. In fact, when traveling by car or plane, their LeapPad 2 and Leapster Systems are usually packed even before clothing. So, my twins were very excited to review the latest product from LeapFrog, the LeapPad Ultra.
For children 4-9 years old, the LeapPad Ultra is a kid-proof tablet {so important!} with Wi-fi capabilities. It has a generous 7″ screen, much bigger than the 5″ on their LeapPad2. You can set a parent password so kids can’t download anything on their own, and you can easily shut off the WiFi as well. When the Wifi is enabled, they can search for kid-friendly things like pets and sports – yet rest assured, they cannot do any searching on YouTube, Facebook or any other ‘iffy sites’. Great job with this function, LeapFrog!
The LeapPad Ultra offers plenty of apps and games, for entertainment and education. In fact, it comes preloaded with 11 to start, which is awesome compared to others that only come with 1 or 2. This means they can play right from the box, without you having to connect and download while they are jumping at you to hurry so they can play. Then, once they get used to the included apps, and parents get a sense of what others are available, then you can look into buying more. When that time comes, you have your choice of over 800 apps, games, videos, e-books and music. Many of the apps cost $5, which isn’t breaking the bank at all.
In comparison to the LeapPad2 again, the LeapPad Ultra has a faster processor, more memory and has a built in MP3 player. Whether playing games or taking photos with the front and back cameras, the faster processor is noticeable right from the start. The twins really took to the art studio, always a quick favourite with them. Plus, I like having them draw and colour on the LeapPad Ultra rather than taking books and crayons on the go anyway. I mean, who really needs more lost crayons in the car or filling their purse, right?
Should you introduce your kid to the world of tablets with the LeapPad Ultra this Christmas? Yes! I love it for it’s kid-friendly function, safety and quality – plus the availability of so many educational games and apps. The twins at had no issues jumping into the tablet and navigating their way through all it’s features. Even though it’s very educational, I do limit the girls screen-time {which includes the LeapPad Ultra}. Yet not playing on it all the time sure makes them excited when they can and this makes for very quiet road trips, waits at the doctors office or so that Santa can get some wrapping done.

Also if you have had minimal flooding, you will not have to tear up any
walls and do preventative mold maintenance.
If you are feeling frustrated and returning home each night does not feel comforting and
relaxing, it may be time for a move. They will not only be able to
address the immediate problem but will also be able to better gauge how other areas of your home will stand up to water damage throughout the storm season.
