LeapFrog Donates to the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton
As a Canadian LeapFrog Mom, I get to test various LeapFrog products and tell other parents about them {I was able to give parents some products too, during our LeapFrog Playdate}. Yet, Leapfrog doesn’t stop there when it comes to product outreach and giving all kids a chance to experience the educational benefits of their toys. LeapFrog had offered to donate some of their products to a charity of my choice and I jumped at the chance. Just how great is that!?! And, I didn’t hesitate at all when I suggested the donation be made to the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta.
When my oldest daughter was 20 months old, she had to have a heart procedure at the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton. I was already so terribly sad and the thought of being in a hospital made it so much worse. Yet I was so happy and surprised at the amazing decor and activities at the children’s hospital. As well, the doctors, nurses and other medical professionals were the friendliest and most enthusiastic medical team I have ever encountered.
As for my daughter, the surgery and recovery was a complete success. I could not speak more highly for the hospital and the staff that we encountered. To each and every one, I could thank a million times over.
And, I am also thankful for the ‘little things’ that made my daughter happy during her treatment. One which made all the difference was the donation of huge stuffed bears by a certain company. When my daughter awoke and had a friend there waiting for her, it certainly put a smile on her face. I thought of our own experiences when I suggested that LeapFrog donate to the Stollery Children’s Hospital. I know firsthand that kids who are in the hospital for whatever reason, will find some comfort and entertainment with having LeapFrog products available to them. Every bit helps when it comes to promoting recovery.

My son to was born with a heart condition ( HlHS- DORV), although he was too young to use leapfrog items when he had his first two surgeries…. on his third open heart surgery I came equiped with my own stash of leap frog games and movies ( which my son loves.. ).
( he was at sick kids in Toronto).. These items made the time spent there somewhat bearable..
