Fisher-Price Smart Stages Vacuum

Before I was an online FisherPriceMoms ambassador, I was a real-life Fisher-Price Mom. Just look back through my many articles and you’ll read stories of how the brand has been a strong factor through mine and my kids life.

Even though my kids are past the technical Fisher-Price targeted age, you’ll still find the brand throughout our house. Toys that my kids still pick up from time to time have been kept {you can’t deny the beauty of a classic toy}, to that fabulous Power Wheels Escalade that my was just recently parked in the garage for the winter. 

Yet, let’s bring it back to the basics and talk about some of the first Fisher-Price toys that your baby might play with, those bought with the goal of early learning through play.

Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Smart Stages

Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Smart Stages is a revolutionary learning technology that grows with your child for up to three years. The toys’ age appropriate content is user-controlled and can be adjusted to match your child’s development.

Laugh & Learn Smart Stages incorporates three levels of programmable learning, offering babies the chance to grow and discover the world at their own pace. Created in consultation with early childhood learning experts, the toys reflect the philosophy that babies learn best by experiencing the world around them.

“Our Laugh & Learn Smart Stages line was inspired by many years of observing families with infants at home, where we saw babies’ natural curiosity for everyday objects, like phones, light switches and pots and pans,” says Dr. Deb Weber, senior manager of child research, Fisher-Price. “We also found that babies’ play patterns are made-up of contextual and digital learning, and that parents are looking for learning content to help their child grow and develop. This research and insight was our starting point for developing our unique Smart Stages technology.”

The new toy line includes seven products, including the Smart Stages Chair; Puppy’s Smart Stages Home; Puppy’s Smart Stages Train; Smart Stages Crawl Around Car; Smart Stages Laptop; Smart Stages Vacuum; and Smart Stages Mower – all designed to encourage experiential learning through active play.

Smart Stages technology features developmental play for little ones starting at six months, progressing all the way up to 36 months. Each toy is effectively three-toys-in-one.

For example, in this personal video of my twins {at 15 month sold} form October 2009, you could literally play a game of ‘spot Fisher-Price’, yet there is a Smart Stages product in the video – the Vacuum.

My Katie, an early walker, is learning balance and coordination and cause and effect when she runs over her sisters toe. Playing with the Smart Stages Vacuum brings out talking, dancing and clicking of the tongue. Finally, she knows to puch it around like mom and clean the carpet – imaginative and role-play.

Yet, keeping an eye on Fisher-Price in my video is somewhat distracting, as you’ll see with Sophia and her ‘habits’. This real-life video shows real-kids, real play and all the joys that parenting brings. I’m happy to share this glimpse of what raising twins is like – right down to this funny moment only before shared with close family and friends.

  27. i would love this for my grandson it would teach him how grandma cleans her house lol and not only that i grew up my self with Fisher Price toys myself along with my children and I have alway’s been impressed with how they come up with different types of learning tools for children at different levels of ages and this little vacuum is just adorable and great for kids to see how grown ups do housework everyday !

  35. I would love to win because my toddler has just reached that cute stage where she wants to help with everything! When I vacuum she tries to do it with me, which sometimes works, sometimes doesn’t (e.g. on the stairs). She would LOVE this toy and I would love it because when I am vacuuming spots she can’t help with I can have her using her own vacuum elsewhere! 🙂
