Filtrete Water Station

Besides the fact that it just tastes better, one reason why we prefer filtered water is because the kids will drink it. If water that comes from the tap – they won’t touch it. And really, I don’t blame them. For parts of the year, our tap water has that run-off taste and smell, and other times has a touch of a chlorine scent. And, I am a water-pusher – always telling my kids {and reminding myself} to have a glass now and then throughout the day. I am a strong believer in drinking plenty of water, and want my kids to always enjoy drinking it and not think of it as a chore. To me, this only works if the water tastes good. In our home, we have a water cooler and purchase huge re-usable bottles from a local water company. It’s not that expensive, it’s better than choosing individual bottles – and it tastes so good! Now that we have filtered water in our home, we do drink more of it than before. And, for myself and my kids – I have a rule that if they want a glass of milk or juice, they have to drink one glass of water first. This helps cut back on other beverages by a lot, and most times the water does the trick and they don’t even want anything else afterward.

For those with limited space or would prefer to not have a cooler in their home, there is the Filtrete Water Station by Filtrete.

The features include:

  • Filters water directly from the tap into four reusable BPA-free water bottles in seconds and reduces sediment and chlorine taste and odor from tap water
  • Bottles are dishwasher safe and feature a leak-proof cap, making them great for school lunches or soccer practice
  • Provides the approximate recommended daily water intake – 64 ounces – and helps reduce up to 3,000 plastic water bottles worth of waste from landfills per year

The Filtrete website has a program called Clear Advantages. This is a handy tool that you can sign up for, and receive coupons, reminders on when to change filters, and get tips and seasonal e-newsletters {there’s a great contest for a 2011 ford Fiesta right now!}. One tip that I see as very useful is the app that tells you which filter you need. I can’t tell you how many times I have stood {confused} in a filter aisle, regretting leaving the filter number on that piece of paper, which was left sitting at home. Then, to purchase the wrong one and have to go back…. yep, that is a handy tool indeed!

US residents can print the below coupon and save $5 when purchasing the Filtrete Water Station or Water Pitcher:

I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Filtrete and received a gift certificate to thank me for taking the time to participate

  1. looks great! I’ve heard that filtering water this way results in the healthiest water to drink!

  2. I’ve never heard of this before. It’s quite clever to attach the water bottles directly to the filter. I also like that they are dishwasher safe. A lot of reuseable water bottles aren’t, which just makes them inconvenient.
