Eko Bear | Organic and Eco-Friendly Green Toys

Eko Bear is a Canadian online store dedicated to organic and eco-friendly toys. Based in Ottawa, owner and Mom herself, Linda Peters, sought out to find environmentally friendly toys for her son. This includes a full line-up of biodegradable toys, toys made from recycled materials and toys made with sustainability in mind. Yet sometimes choosing ‘green’ gets a little confusing. Eko Bear simplifies things by providing a summary of what makes each product eco-friendly, located on the ‘shop by brand’ page.

Eko Bear carries that well-loved brand, Green Toys. I must say, this brand is one of their top picks when it comes to outdoor toys – proving that eco-friendly is by no means undesirable quality when it comes to lasting the elements and rough play by kids. My girls received the Green Toys Dish Set, which for my princesses- is used all the time. Yet, they also got the Green Toys Chef Set, which suits the Dish set – well. It’s almost perfect that they all think alike and enjoy playing role games such a tea-time and cooking and almost always a combination of them both. They all get along so well when playing with this set, which is great for any parents’ sanity. And, since tea and cooking involves ‘drinking’, I’m happy that Green Toys follow the strictest regulations when it comes to product safety, including the guarantee that their products contain no BPA or Phthalates {and this is great since these sets spent a lot of time near the mouth!}

Eko Bear carries a great selection of the brand, Green Toys, which are great for use indoors and out. I am really pleased with these sets and know that the girls will be playing with them for quite some time. Gifting Green Toys this Christmas not only gives children imagination through play, but also makes a step toward a better environment by purchasing toys made from recycled materials. And yes, if your kids catch onto this tidbit and question if it did indeed come from Santa – there is an entire section of Santa’s workshop dedicated to making toys using recycling materials. Santa is just as concerned for our earth as we are, right?

  387. Hi, I have a 3.5 year old girl, a 2.5 year old boy and a three-week old girl. They are getting a wooden kitchen for x-mas this year – so I would love to outfit it with a green dish set and a green cook set for my aspiring little chefs. They’ve just been introduced to baking and they love it. I’m also going to get them a bunch of the clementine art supplies as stocking stuffers.
    I just discovered ekobear and am so happy – especially since its in Ottawa! You gotta love Ottawa mompreneurs.
