Winter, meet Stonz Winter Bootz

Here in Alberta, winter came in very slowly for once. Usually hitting us with a bang months ago, we just now seem to be in the full swing of winter. So, we really can’t complain … at least, that’s what I tell myself now that it’s freeing cold and I’m shovelling way too much for my liking. Which again, really isn’t that much yet, but … sigh.

And here we start the long Canadian winter of many lost mitts and much time spent bundling up. Like it or not, we have to push through and spend time tim sub-zero temperatures. Yet, we are well-equipped for warm feet thanks to Stonz, a Canadian company who provides winter gear to get us through winters, warmly. Each of my girls are once again wearing Stonz Winter Bootz this winter, and in that I feel confident that their feet are well protected from the elements.

Stonz Winter Boots come in a wide array of sizes {up to 14 years of age}, and my first introduction was when I was searching for winter footwear for my babies. These tiny versions which I found at a boutique store were so adorable they stuck in my mind immediately. So year after year Stonz is the first brand to come to mind when it’s time to equip my kids with winter boots.

The Story Behind Stonz Booties – As an active mom based on Canada’s wet and rugged West Coast, Lisa discovered that finding warm footwear for her young kids was near impossible. With her five-month old son in a backpack, Lisa resorted to wrapping scarves around her son’s legs to keep him warm. When she met another mom with a boot that looked a lot like a fleece-lined chalk bag (which was made-by-hand for her child), Lisa instantly knew that these booties could fill a need in the market. Together, they created some booties samples – made with a fleece lined inner and a coated nylon exterior. The booties were designed with stylish appliqués, soft soles for a custom fit, and toggles at both the calf and ankle so that they stayed on.

Parents, you know the drill. You search for winter boots for kids and the bulk of the options available are mere fashion boots, and it makes me mad that they are labelled as anything but. These cutesy character fashion boots which kids go gaga for, defiantly lack in function and quality. These need to come with a huge warning, in my opinion, since kids feet will get cold when walking through snow across the playground. Canadian winters are harsh – and we need boots that take on our season as winter boots should do.

Bottom line: Stonz Winter Bootz can withstand temperatures as low as -50°C/-58°F, backed by certified performance testing.

Stonz winter boots are lightweight, waterproof, have a slip resistant sole. The inner lining is removable and have both velcro and drawstring closure for a custom fit. Plus, they are made in Canada by Canadians who know what we need in a solid, quality boot.
