Buy Dairyland and Help Give Back

It only goes without saying, my memories of Saturday morning cartoons were always paired with a bowl of cereal with Dairyland milk on my lap. It’s a brand my parents always chose not only because they knew first-hand that it’s a top brand of fresh local milk in Western Canada since 1917, but for a preference in taste and quality. Fast forward to today and Dairyland milk is still front and centre in my own fridge.

New packaging, after all these years!

I do believe I vocalized a ‘huh‘ as I placed the cartons in my cart, and perhaps said that a couple more times with each use from my fridge. And if I ever wondered how much of an impression the little things imprint on memories, it’s proven with my daughter exclaiming, ‘they changed the carton!‘ as she grabbed the milk for her own bowl of cereal one morning before school.

When I got news of why the Dairyland 1L and 2L milk carton packaging underwent a temporary change, it literally made me smile. The classic vintage packaging is a reminder of life’s simple moments, and among these simple moments and memories made – is having breakfast.

Here’s a little shared trip down my memory lane: Decades ago my father used to own a transport company, and oftentimes he’d assist in delivering Dairyland milk to local grocers. When days off from school allowed, I’d go with him on deliveries – it was one of my favourite things to do as a child. It was always exciting to sit in that big passenger seat and travel from one business loading dock to another. I’d meet new people, learn a lot about brands, and get passed the occasional fresh fruit and cup of ice cream because of my obvious crucial assistance in a job well done.
