So make sure to put this delicious wrap and great chicken recipe in your rotation for back to school lunch ideas.

We all know back to school can be a difficult transition, yet one of my biggest tips is to utilize those leftovers.

By cooking one or two whole chickens (or more than needed chicken breasts) one night for dinner, you can easily have yummy leftovers that can be used for days of lunches or another easy dinner.

Ingredients to Make Buffalo Chicken Wraps

You’ll need the following simple ingredients to make easy buffalo chicken wraps. The full instructions for this buffalo chicken wraps recipe and printable recipe card are below.

  • cooked chicken, shredded or chopped
  • Franks Hot Buffalo Sauce or sweet buffalo sauce
  • lettuce
  • shredded cheese
  • carrot
  • ranch dressing (or blue cheese dressing)
  • large tortillas
  • Optionals: thin slices of red onion, green onions

How to Make Buffalo Chicken Wraps

In a medium bowl, combine cooked chicken and add the Franks Hot Buffalo Sauce to make juicy buffalo chicken. Toss to evenly coat.

Lay out the tortillas and add to the center of each tortilla: the lettuce, cooked shredded chicken, shredded cheese, carrot and top with drizzled salad dressing of choice.

Fold and wrap the tortilla burrito-style and enjoy.

Note: If you don’t have already cooked chicken, that is actually the first thing to be done. To cook chicken quickly, I like to fry diced chicken on the stove. Use a large skillet and olive oil, and over medium-high heat.

Buffalo Chicken Wraps Tips and Variations:

  • Rather than have separate hot sauce and buffalo sauce, I always use Franks Buffalo Hot Sauce.
  • You can use either blue cheese dressing or ranch dressing. An option would be to also sprinkle on blue cheese crumbles before wrapping it all up.
  • Any type of lettuce is fine, use what you have on hand or your favourite.
  • Any leftover chicken will do, even tenders to make a crispy buffalo chicken wrap recipe. You can use leftover boneless skinless chicken breasts, rotisserie chicken.
  • Use chicken strips or chicken tenders to make crispy buffalo chicken wraps.
  • When it comes to cheese, any shredded will also do. Try cheddar cheese or monterey jack cheese

As you can see, this entire wrap recipe is totally customizable. From the type of cheese, tortillas, romaine lettuce pr other crunchy vegetables – make it how you want.

Spicy Buffalo Chicken

You can even add more or less Franks Buffalo Hot Sauce to suit your spice preference. I love the spicy flavors yet my kids like less than I, so this is a wrap that can be made to suit all tastes.

Healthier Buffalo Chicken Recipe

You could also omit the flour tortillas and wrap in large lettuce leaves to make buffalo chicken lettuce wraps. This is a low carb option for healthy buffalo chicken wraps aside from using low carb tortillas.

Sometimes we need the reminder that small swaps make all the difference in changing up a meal. A healthy way is sometimes in the little things.

Handy tip:

If making these buffalo chicken wraps to send for school, make sure the lettuce is next to the tortilla inside. This prevents any sogginess before enjoying.
