A Mother and Her Daughter at Beaches Resorts

If someone asked me, ‘where do you want to be in 5 years?‘, I immediately think of destinations and eagerly rattle on about my travel bucket list. It’s not the answer most expect, yet it’s evidence of just how much traveling means to me. It’s in my heart and soul and will forever be a top passion.

We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us.” – Island Routes.

Vacations with just my husband and family travel – both are experiences which I think every person must partake from time to time. My husband and I have gotten into the routine of alternating time alone and then family trips, both of which I always look forward to.

Yet of all the travel we have have done, I have always wanted to take a trip with just my oldest daughter.

Of course there was once a time, before the twins blessed our lives, that it was just Isabelle. At that time I was able to devote 100% of my attention only her, just me and my girl. As much as I love our completed family with twins plus one, I have to be honest that at times I miss connecting with just my oldest with no interruption.

When I was invited on a trip to Beaches Resorts in Negril, my gut told me that this was the time. This was my chance to take only my oldest, and have that Mother & Daughter trip that I’d always dreamed of.

When I told Isabelle of our trip {just a couple days before we left}, I could see the excitement. I’m happy to have passed my travel gene down to this little jet-setter, but this news in particular brought a reaction different than sharing news of previous trips. “Just you and me, Mom? Really? … NO WAY!!!“.

A Mother and Her Daughter at Beaches Resorts!

Our Negril Honeymoon Beachfront Grande Luxe Concierge Room {oh la la!} at Beaches Resorts in Negril was amazing! It was located in the 400 building, on the second floor. The buildings at Beaches Negril don’t have elevators, and I did see parents taking strollers up and down stairs, yet if this isn’t for you – do request a ground floor room.

As soon as we walking into the room, one couldn’t help but notice the lovely towel art waiting for us on the bed with ‘Welcome Home to Beaches’ spelled out in leaves. Ahhh, perfection.

The room had rich and beautiful mahogany furnishings and a king bed. There was also a couch that does convert into a single bed, for additional sleeping. The bathroom area featured a separate tub/shower and toilet area and a large sized closet opposite to the sink area. Marble-finished touches are everywhere!

Inside the closet was the in-room safe {did you know Sandals was the first resort to introduce in-room safes? Trend-setter, indeed! The more you know, guys}. The closet offers plenty of space to hang or shelf clothing, as well as an ironing board, hairdryer, extra pillows/blankets and a couple of umbrellas in case it rains.

This beautiful hutch held the large TV, microwave, wine glasses and the in-room refrigerator stocked with sodas, water, beer and juices. In a resort first for me, this fridge is stocked twice a day as well – which is awesome. It also housed the coffee maker with associated supplies that were restocked daily as well.

Each room also has it’s own XBox {my daughter did a dance of joy at this discovery}, and you can borrow games from the Concierge desk. While we weren’t in the room a whole lot for her to play the XBox, it was great for her to use while I showered and got ready for the day or for a little bit before bed. Trust me, parents, this WILL come in handy at some point.

I also need to take this time to thank Beaches Negril for the wonderful welcome presents for myself and my daughter. As well, there was a nice array of foods in our room, on our arrival {thank you!}.

We had a private patio and balcony, with stunning views of both the lush gardens and the ocean. This was a comfortable and relaxing place where I enjoyed my morning coffee while my daughter slept in.

The aura of the Beaches Negril property is very tropical, one of the most lush properties I’ve had the pleasure of staying at. When you arrive at the open-air lobby at the resort, you’d know exactly what I mean. Each path, turn and area you discover at the resort is a tropical paradise. Very clean and well maintained.

Until then, feel free to drool over the gorgeous photos of Negril’s 7 Mile beach that guests of Beaches Negril can enjoy. It was breathtaking and definitely a huge bonus to staying at Beaches Negril.

  8. Omg, I love the way they fold the towels, the food looks amazing, the room is beautiful and the presents are a sweet gesture! Looks like you guys had an unforgettable time!!

  9. How wonderful that you have a special memory shared just with one of your children! I always tried to find a way to do something with each of my daughters on their own (one went to Disney with me, one went to Los Angeles, and one went to Park City, as well as various other little day trips). I love all-inclusive, and although I haven’t traveled to a Beaches yet, this is definitely a trip to put on my wishlist! Thanks for sharing! It looks as though it was a fabulous adventure!

    1. Once long ago my daughter commented that she never gets to hold my hand anymore {they always have to hold onto my twins, since they are still so young}. That hurt, a lot. Now, I jump at the chance to hold her hand, whenever I can. And I love that she still wants to hold my hand. So happy you’ve done this Julie – I’m sure your kids loved each adventure!!

  10. I love the idea of one on one time with one child. Lots of ones there – sorry! Great post.

    1. Thanks Talya, one on one is so important. Even if it’s a little trip to the store. I have to consciously remember this and do it often with each child.

  11. This looks like such an amazing trip tammi for you and your daughter. I would love to take a trip with my oldest too as he never thinks he gets enough mommy time!

    1. They never do, which is so sad. But, such is life – we just have to find even small ways to connect one on one. And thank you, we had a remarkable time together!

  12. Wow, it looks absolutely amazing there, I would love to take my daughter on a mommy daughter trip sometime too. I’m glad you girls had such a great time 🙂

  13. what a beautiful place this is and I love how guests are greeted, towel swans, fruit etc etc. I could feel right at home here 🙂 This will have been an unforgettable experience for both you and your daughter.

  14. My daughter and I went to Beaches Sandy Bay almost three years ago, it was the most magical place. I knew I would not be able to afford it once she turned two so I took her two weeks before her second birthday. We had a fantastic time, she loved all the sesame events, the staff, food and resort were beautiful and the beach breathtaking. We spent one day at Beaches Negril and loved it there as well. So wonderful that the two of you had the opportunity to vacation there together!!!

    1. Awe, that’s awesome. Very smart for you to do that. She must have LOVED it! I’ve noticed Beaches has some great sales from time to time, start stalking them or inquire with @MPBgetawaygirl on Twitter. It might not be so out of reach!!

  15. I may have to look into this resort for my next trip to Jamaica. It looks so wonderful.

  16. This is wonderful. I’m so glad you got to experience this with her. I don’t have a daughter but would love to take my boys on a trip. I’m currently using concerts to bond with my oldest. He’s really into music so I’m showing him what real music is all about by taking him to see The Eagles! I’m going to talk to my husband about Sandals though!

    1. That would be great! I took Belle to her first concert – Bieber! Then to KISS, lol. Love that she’s starting to get into classics and is showing interest beyond the new popular stuff.

  17. Wow what a great resort to spend vaca time! Beautiful place, beautiful daughter and beautiful mom too!

  18. Wow! What a fabulous opportunity to spend a trip with your oldest daughter. I would love to take a trip – just myself and my daughter. The resort looks lovely also – on my travel bucket list for sure.

    1. Yes! I can’t wait to travel with her again one day, perhaps when she is a teen? We had such a great time together!

  19. How peaceful! Your daughter looks so much like you! I would love to go a getaway with just my girls.

  20. This looks awesome! Just like couples need to get away together, parents need to do the same with each of their kids. This resort is the perfect place for that:)

  21. Gorgeous looking resort – and pictures as usual. Now I have to do some research on Beaches.

  22. Spending time with your daughter like that is wonderful. I was in Jamaica in November and stayed in a Treehouse at Kanopi House on the Blue Lagoon. It is near Port Antonio. It was a beautiful spot, very unique. Only downfall it does not have a beach.

    1. Never heard of it, I may have to look up that location. Yet, I think we’d need a beach ..

  23. Sounds like a great destination for some great mother and daughter time. Jealous!

  24. This vacation looks so beautiful and fun! Would love to go there one day with my daughter too.

  25. Amazing photos of the food available and the room looks stunning. What a wonderful Mum you are to recognize the special relationship that you and your oldest had at first and to keep doing things together like this is simply wonderful.

  26. Looks like you had an incredible time, I also have twin girls they are 12 and would love to go on vacation with them somewhere one day but for now we are heading to Punta Cana this year for a family trip and we are all very excited

  27. More breathtakingly beautiful than I had ever imagined…once in a lifetime experience for both of you ladies!
