Alexandra Resort – Turks and Caicos

While in Turks and Caicos recently, I first stayed at the Blue Haven Resort, then had the pleasure of also staying at its sister resort, Alexandra. While Blue Haven is located on the marina, the Alexandra Resort, even though just minutes away by car – is right on the famous Grace Bay Beach.

Grace Bay Beach in Providenciales Turks and Caicos is famous for good reason, year after year it’s named THE top beach in the world. ‘Beautiful’ is almost an understatement, the iconic turquoise waters set against the powdery white sand is almost a world wonder in my opinion.

Alexandra Resort is where families and groups come together and couples getaway year after year. Besides the prime location of being beachside, Alexandra Resorts stands out to me with it’s 90-suites of all sizes. From studio suites all the way up to 3 bedroom suites, there’s accommodations to suit any and all types of travellers – especially those with larger families like mine.

I stayed in a three-bedroom oceanview suite that had a full and complete kitchen, dining area, living room, master bedroom, bedroom with two twin beds and yet another with the most adorable nautical bunk beds. This suite is ideal for families, larger families or multi-generational travellers.

When travelling, especially with family and kids in tow, it’s so nice to have a washer and dryer right there in your suite {standard in the one, two and four bedroom units}. This is the first time I went home from vacation with clean clothing, and I have to admit – it’s priceless. We all know that first day back from a trip is a tough one, but not having to do mountains of laundry makes it much easier.

This Alexandra Resort three-bedroom suite {video at the link} also had the most impressive main balcony, with the most perfect views of Grace Bay Beach imaginable. Yet, it doesn’t stop there since the bedroom with the twin beds also has it’s own separate balcony with partial ocean views as well.

As much as I love to spend my vacation days at the pool or beach, the lure of that generously sized balcony was a favourite pastime while at this resort. One night I got to watch thunderstorms dancing on the waters and lighting up the ocean – it was amazing.

The resort lagoon-style pool is nestled in lush gardens, complete with water floaties for adults and kids to use. I took one for a spin and floated under the bridges, past the swim up bar and around the pool – complete relaxation!

Alexandra has one restaurant on the property, Asu – which is beachside with wonderful views of Grace Bay Beach. At night, watch the sunset right from your table! Choose from a full menu of options, the food is amazing any time of the day.

Near Asu and the beach is where you’ll also find a free-standing bar which is where many gravitate toward in the evenings, for visiting and celebrating their vacation. The atmosphere at this specific location of the resort is very beautiful at night, especially with the ocean air cooling you off after a hot day in the Turks and Caicos sun.

Guests at Alexandra can take a complimentary shuttle to its sister resorts {Blue Haven and Beach House}, which I urge you to do. Not only can you enjoy the resorts themselves {they each offer something entirely different for sure}; but then you’ll be able to visit the market, spa and other restaurants.

Despite the fact the Alexandra Resort is not an all-inclusive Caribbean resort, it does offer several complimentary services such as non-motorized water sports, tennis courts, pedal bikes, the free dining shuttle to sister resorts, and WiFi property wide.

Alexandra Resort, Blue Haven Resort and Beach House all offer an optional daily meal plan for $120 per person, and half price for children ages 12 and under. A daily breakfast credit for adults is based on standard room occupancy and is already included in rates at the resorts. The meal plan includes the breakfast credit and also provides lunch, dinner, and select alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages by the glass at lunch and dinner.

For optimum dining flexibility, guests may choose the number of meal plans that they wish to purchase. For instance, a guest staying for five nights may choose to purchase the meal plan for two days, thereby still having the freedom to sample other restaurants on Providenciales during their vacation. or, utilize that incredible in-suite kitchen.

I was an invited guest to this resort, yet as always all opinions 100% my own.
