2011 Highlights : MyChaos

posing for a photoWhy 2011 Highlights? In one of my recent posts a reader commented with amazement of how much my kids have grown this year. The main reason why I cherish this blog so much is that I can go back to posts from years ago and see photos and stories of my children. A true chronicle of life, this space and the words within is my true treasure. They are ‘MyChaos’ after all!

So, to mark the end of 2011, I chose a favorite photo from each month, for each child
{Jan-Dec}. Now that, my friends, is a hard task to take on! More than physical changes, it was heartwarming to recall all the fun times this past year.

Along with that, my kids had some major accomplishments in 2011 as well. Yet, when you have twins, most of the events are done in unison. But, alas – I try and cherish their independence, so pardon the repetition.

  1. They do grow up fast! I’m glad some of the changes are good ones! Like sitting at the table, being in big girl beds, potty training success and reading a chapter book!

Every outsider thinks my boys are a year older than they are because of how tall they are. Plus Mica has a big vocabulary. I’m never sure if people thinking they are older than they are is a good or bad thing?

    1. I understand, Alissa! Some people are shocked to hear that my twins are twins. Height, speech, size. One day at a time, right?

  2. Wow…I knew they were beautiful, but all together…STUNNING! Of course, they have fantastic genes. Your daughters are amazing. Happy New Year to them and to their gorgeous mommy!

    1. Heather, that is so sweet – thank you!!
I need to go back through photos like this more often.
      Happy New Year to you!

  3. What beautiful girls! A great way to see all the changes over the last year! Happy New Year Tammi!

  4. Oh my word, your girls are just as beautiful as you. WOW. It’s amazing to see them grow into little people. Here’s to another year of appreciating your loved ones and life and much, much more!

    1. Katie really REALLY wanted one for Christmas. Good thing she got great things, and didn’t say, “wheres my hippo?” on Christmas Day, *phew*

  5. oh I love this idea Tammi 🙂 And I love blogging for this reason too- so I can look back and see all those moments I would otherwise forget!

    1. thanks Tara!! I adore your children too, funny how we are a country apart but still feel so close? If I passed by your kids on the street, I’d know them in a heartbeat!

  6. oh goodness gracious, they are all so fantastically cute and adorable!! You can really really see the changes from the first picture to the last. What a great way to log their accomplishments and keep track of their growth. 🙂

    1. Thanks Christine!!!!
Always so nice to get a response from you – so happy to have really gotten to know you in 2011, here’s to ‘meeting in person’ and huge things for 2012!
      🙂

  7. I love this year in review. Your girls are beautiful. I haven’t been by very often, but is it just me or does one of your twins look more like big sister than the other. They could probably pass for triplets if they were closer in size/age. Tell them I said congratulations on all the wonderful milestones they’ve met. 🙂

    1. you are right, Petula!
One of my twins looked exactly like my oldest in the first 2 years and now the other look more like her as she is today!
I’ll pass on that message to them, thank you so much for your kind comment!
