No Link Between Pampers Dry Max Diapers & Diaper Rash

Diaper and Pampers

I started following the Pampers Dry Max debate long before I had the opportunity to tour the Baby Care HQ in Cincinnati in June of this year. Like many parents, I too have been waiting for the official testing results from Health Canada and the US Consumer Product Safety Commission {CPSC} regarding the safety of Dry Max Diapers and if it is at all possible that they cause severe diaper rash. This afternoon, I got the news that their studies were complete and that there is no need for concern when it comes to the safety of the new Dry Max Pampers.

Read the Health Canada Statement regarding Dry Max and the CPSC Statement regarding Dry Max. As well, Pampers has remarked on the Dry Max findings.

As noted in the findings, “As part of its technical evaluation, staff from each agency considered certain characteristics of the diaper, including the materials used, the construction of the diaper, and heat and moisture retention issues.”

I am a Mother who has had to deal with diaper rash more often than I would like, with my oldest and the Twins. I know there are so many causes of diaper rash, and it’s sometimes very hard to avoid the possibility of an occurrence. I think we all need to keep in mind that each child is different, and some products work better for a particular child than others might. Though I might have my own parental opinions based on experience, I always allow a doctor or professional to diagnose my children before coming to a conclusion.

It is said in the statement, “Both agencies will continue to evaluate consumer complaints related to Pampers Dry Max diapers and will provide parents with updated information if this assessment changes. As always, parents and caregivers are advised to seek the attention of a medical professional if they have any concerns about adverse health reactions.”

I am sure the debate will always be discussed, yet I am happy that the official results from Health Canada and the CPSC were released – actual proof that Pampers Dry Max is not linked with the diaper rash claims.
